Sue Barry
Ceramic Artist
Sue Barry received her formal education in New Zealand at both Victoria University and Wellington College of Education. Her majors were Art and Art History.
Sue moved to the United States in 1996. She was working with oil paints and watercolors. In 2007, Sue started to explore the medium of clay with the interest being the application of paint. Carving of the clay evolved in 2009.
Sue uses porcelain and both transparent and crackle glazes to give her work the wonderful depth of color. Her subject matter is usually a depiction of nature, botanical, seascapes, mountains and koi ponds.
